CASL - Colorado School Libraries get Tech
June 23, 2008

CASL, the Colorado Association of School Libraries, is trying something new this year. For the first time, they are holding a pre-conference day attached to the Colorado TIE - Technology in Education - confernece. What an exciting way to focus on the collaboration between technology and libraries!

I am quite excitied about keynoting the conversation today as we explore a rich future for libraries. Today's discussion will look at the idea of a Digital Reshift (subtitled finding library 2.0 in unlikely places). I will be looking at four key concepts: change, market, connect, and play. These may not seem like the most natural activities for libraries, but they are the ones that will secure our place in the future of schools.\

Follow the conversation live with a CoverItLive page set up by Bud Hunt (Bud the Teacher).

Thanks for highlighting our Colorado coup in your blog, Chris. And, most of all thank you for joining us for the history-making event. Your session handouts, Bud’s “Cover it Live” and other presenter material may be reviewed on our CASL Kick-off to TIE wiki. The CASL Kick-off to TIE pre-conference could not have happened without the great and creative minds and helping hands of the CASL Board, our friends, and supporters. The pre-conference was a lesson in collaboration for libraries and technology educators throughout the country. I will be sharing Colorado’s efforts Monday morning between 8-10 am at the convention center room ACC 204 in Anaheim with a panel of other AASL award recipients in "Good enough for prime time: How to win an AASL Award". Thanks to you, and the ABC-CLIO award, the Colorado Association of School Librarians will proudly publicize the story and the success!
