Drupal in Libraries Released

May 23, 2008 Drupal in Libraries, the ALA TechSource Library Technology Reports issue I co-wrote with Andy Austin, is now available! The easy-to-follow guide provides an overview of what Drupal is and how libraries can use it to create powerful websites. We really did write it in English and not geek! Fish4Info, for example, uses Drupal to provide catalog access enchanced with book reviews, pathfinders, and more. This really is our go-to platform for fast site development and deployment:
I won't lie and say there isn't a learning curve to Drupal, but I will stress that there are incredible things that you can do before the learning curve kicks into a steep grade. There are so many modules avaialble on the Drupal site to extend the platform that you really don't have to do any custom code for most sites.

If you are looking for more about Drupal, check out Drupal in Libraries from ALA TechSource or stop by our session at ALA Annual!
