SLJTeen just got the news that the first direct sequel to the classic and award-winning Ender's Game(1985) by Margaret A. Edwards Awards winner Orson Scott Card has just been released. Ender in Exile (Tor, ISBN: 0-7653-0496-1) returns to the Ender universe, and features his story as a teenager. The reviews so far are unanimous – Card is a master of the science fiction genre. – Dodie Ownes, Editor

  • Write2Xpress Writing Contest for Teens
    Since 2004, Oakville Public Library, Oakville, Ontario has offered teens an opportunity to submit a 1,500 word short story as part of its Write2Xpress writing contest. In previous years, aspiring authors were asked to form their story around a photograph provided by a local gallery. This year, Oakville’s Teen Advisory Group decided to switch it up a bit by requiring writers to include the phrase “May I call you a cab?” in the short story. more » » » 
  • "How We Read Now" - YALSA Symposium is a Sell Out!
    The YALSA Young Adult Literature Symposium held in Nashville Nov. 7-9, has been declared a huge success.  Beside the post-election euphoria, there was a great deal of excitement and energy among the registrants part of this first-ever event. The weekend kicked off with a full-day preconference on graphic novels, which was so popular that on-site registrants had to be turned away due to space constrains at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel. more » » »
