In this Issue

A language-arts teacher at my son's middle school and I are putting together an enrichment program that includes books, music, games, and movies, plus criticism, public speaking, and 21st-century literacy skills. Phew! That's a tall order. So far, my best finds of the month are two literature-based resources with tons of best-practice ideas: Book Club for Middle School and PlanetBookClub.com, both from Small Planet Communications.—Dodie Ownes, editor
