Community Action Grants
Dodie Ownes -- School Library Journal, 01/06/2010
Is there a growing focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) activities in your school? Need to get more girls interested? The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is offering community action grants to individuals, AAUW branches and state organizations, and community-based nonprofit organizations to support programs or non-degree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls. One-year “seed money” grants of $2,000 to $7,000 and two-year “start-up” grants of $5,000 to $10,000 are available. The deadline for applications is January 15; complete details can be found on AAUW’s Web site.
