Ottawa Launches ‘Every Kid A Card’ Campaign

The Ottawa Public Library (OPL) in Ontario, Canada, has launched its “Every Kid a Card” campaign, which encourages youngsters under the age of 16 to apply for or renew a library card.

Staples Business Depot, the city hockey team Ottawa 67, the Canadian Space Agency, Pizza Pizza, and other campaign sponsors will offer discount coupons, hockey tickets, and food to participants. Schools that reach 100 percent participation in the campaign, which ends on September 26, are eligible to win a pizza parties and visits by Ottawa 67’s players or astronaut Steven MacLean.

The Ottawa Public Library has the largest bilingual (English/French) collection in North America, with more than five million visitors each year, and a circulation that reaches almost nine million items annually.
