Too much work and not enough play? Here's a great way to get yourself out of that rut. Registration is now officially open for the 2011 National Gaming Day (NGD) on November 12. The goal of this American Library Association initiative is to use gaming, of all types, to reconnect communities and libraries. Plus, the event serves as a reminder that there's more to libraries than just books. There will again be two video-game tournaments as part of NGD, coordinated by Eli Neiburger and the Ann Arbor (MI) District Library—the Epic Super Smash Bros. Brawl and a retro 30th Anniversary Frogger Library High Score Contest—which allow gamers nationwide to compete against each other via their local library's gaming events.
