Looking for Some Big Brains
This year is already shaping up to be a great time for the Big Brain Club, the nonprofit education foundation that helps young people recognize that "Smart Is Cool." There are lots of innovative school programs coming up this spring, and the Big Brain Club will once again be donating cutting-edge technology to classrooms, as well as publishing the creative writing of middle school students. The ultimate goal of the Big Brain Club and its programming is to create a culture in which young people are encouraged to become the best versions of themselves and academic achievement is something worth working for, rather than something to ridicule. This year the Big Brain Club will reach out to even more campuses, through direct appearances and video conferences. This article originally appeared in School Library Journal's enewsletter SLJTeen.
