Nick Glass, TeachingBooks.net for Curriculum Connections

Elementary students love series titles. They enjoy the comfort of familiar characters, settings, and structures. This is especially true for emergent and newly independent readers, whose reading success with these titles encourages them to seek similar books.
TeachingBooks.net recognizes the power of series in the lives of readers. To aid educators in their search for inspiring multimedia resources that can be easily integrated into literacy activities, our team has created a free "Curriculum Resource Center" devoted to those series popular with elementary students.
The collection includes hours of audio interviews and hundreds of online resources to support the enjoyment of 40 favorite series including fantasy, mystery, realistic fiction, and biography. Click on the links below to access a selection of material from the "Curriculum Resource Center," or scroll through the entire database at your leisure.

I agree with many of the books that you selected. I would like to add a book that I really love, Abduction, by Peg Kehret. This is a book I found hard to put down as are most of her books. The book is about a girl who is trying to find her younger brother who was abducted by a crazy father she didn't know exsisted.

Thanks, Ms. Condron, for your note and suggestion regarding Abduction by Peg Kehret. It is a great book, and here is a link from TeachingBooks.net that will give you resources about the book, as well as her pronouncing her name (think orange vegetable): http://tinyurl.com/2d5tskt
