It’s not often that the words rap music, animation, and science are mentioned in the same sentence, but a science Web site is hoping to get kids excited about the subject by bringing all three together.

Super Science Fair Projects has launched a new contest, asking all kids to choose a science project of their choice and to implement an eco-friendly “green” effort in their community.

The competition, open to all K-12 students, will award prizes ranging from a Magnacraft 50mm. power telescope to a Maxcope Microscope Set. The deadline is December 15, 2008.

According to a rap song and animated video on the Super Science Fair Web site
It’s cool to study math and science
Cause they will prepare you for self reliance.
And even if you don’t win the Nobel Prize
The things you do will make you wise.

“We created the video as a way of encouraging students to tackle these subjects and to enrich their lives by entering science fairs,” says site director Madeline Binder. “And with all the new resources on our site, they have an excellent chance of winning a science fair contest.”

The site often sponsors its virtual science fair contests and serves as a 24/7 resource for students, teachers and parents, offering more than 600 free science fair projects and ideas.
