Christopher Bell -- School Library Journal, 04/21/2010

Buying presentation software can be a very expensive proposition. That’s why I’m constantly looking for free, high-performing presentation tools. Fortunately, there are a lot of good ones to choose from, and some of them even allow you to store your presentation and work online.

Prezentit.com is a new presentation tool and it’s one of the easiest to use. Plus, sign-up is a snap—just create a username and provide a valid email address and password and you’re ready to go.

This is one of the most intuitive programs I’ve used in a long time. On the left side of the screen is a new slide. The plus sign means create a new slide, the minus sign will delete the slide. There are all kinds of transitions available under the Transition button. A simple click of a button will get you text, images, backgrounds, colors, fonts, or slides. It’s really that easy. You can upload your own pictures or take advantage of Prezentit.com’s gallery of pictures. The program also lets you create notes on the slides for the presenter. Your final presentation will work just like a PowerPoint presentation, clicking backward or forward through the slides.

The program has some other nifty features that I really like. You can share your presentation with a partner in another location and let him or her edit it—or share the presentation without allowing others to make changes. It’s your choice. Finally, you can publish your presentation on Prezentit.com’s Web site, which makes this tool extra convenient to use. Like other file-sharing sites, you’ll get a URL to share with others, so you can leave that flash drive behind.

This is a great presentation tool and the quality is fantastic. I highly recommend trying it. My one quibble? This program offers only 256MB for each individual project, but for most student presentations, that’s plenty of space.
