  •  Bowker/Choice debut Resources for College Libraries: Career Resources
  • SwetWise Online Content available through iPhone/iPod
  • SirsiDynix partners with Bell Canada for SaaS
  • Polaris creates Customer Relations Dept.

Bowker and Choice have launched Resources for College Libraries (RCL): Career Resources. Available in print and online with Bowker’s Book Analysis System, RCL: Career Resources is a collection development tool featuring 5000 carefully selected core titles in 57 career-related subjects such as allied health, building and construction trades, engineering and technology, and graphic and apparel arts. Compiled by an editorial team of nearly 60 subject editors, the collection includes traditional monographs, textbooks, and online materials.

SwetsWise Online Content now can be accessed through Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch. Powered by SwetsWise Subscriptions, SwetsWise Online Content is a single point of contact to an extensive collection of electronic journals in the scholarly information market and gives users access to direct links to more than 11,000 journal titles. It sports more than 25 million searchable references along with links to full-text articles through a web interface.

SirsiDynix has formed a partnership with Bell Canada for collocation services in Montreal, which will provide current and future Canadian Software as a Service (SaaS) customers with added power, as well as increased cooling, and Internet redundancies.

Polaris Library Systems has established a new Customer Relations department focusing exclusively on customer satisfaction. The company said that Customer Relations staff “will work with new and existing customers to make certain Polaris is providing the essential support, tools, information, and resources customers need to successfully run their libraries.” Jodi Bellinger will assume the title of manager, customer relations. Previously, she was sales and marketing operations manager at Polaris and has been with the vendor for almost ten years. Connie Wilson, a 25-year veteran of Polaris, will join the department as customer relations coordinator.
