Drag Queen Story Hour Renames Organization Drag Story Hour

The organization's new name and logo are meant to reflect the diversity of performers and represent greater inclusivity.

Drag Queen Story Hour has changed its name to Drag Story Hour (DSH) to "reflect the diverse cast of storytellers" in the organization. With the announcement of the new name, DSH unveiled a new logo, as well.

“The original name extends beyond the San Francisco roots where we began: with global reach, our storytellers include not only drag queens, but drag kings and many other royal beings," said Beatrice Thomas aka the Reverend Black Benatar, the president of Drag Story Hour and leader of its San Francisco Bay Area chapter. "We’ve always welcomed a diverse range of approaches to drag, and now that’s more accurately reflected in our name!”

Nothing will change about the nonprofit's programming or mission, which is to celebrate reading "through the glamorous art of drag."

The new website is dragstoryhour.org, however, dragqueenstoryhour.org will redirect automatically.
