New York City school children now have another free source to rely on for help with their homework, research, and studies, thanks to a new Web site developed by the New York Public Library, the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Queens Borough Public Library.
Created in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education, homeworkNYC.org offers links to helpful library resources, such as databases from EBSCO, the New York Times, and Encyclopedia Britannica on subjects ranging from math and science to history and mythology.
Students can ask a librarian questions by phone, online chats, or e-mail, as well as talk in real time to teachers in 12 different languages, including Arabic, Hebrew, and Haitian Creole.
