Kate DiCamillo is on a roll. Her debut novel, Because of Winn-Dixie, was named a 2001 Newbery Honor Book and made into a major movie. Kateâs next novel, The Tiger Rising, was a National Book Award finalist, and The Tale of Despereaux received the 2004 Newbery Medal, the highest honor given to a childrenâs book writer. But Kateâs latest work, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, may be her best yet. (All books published by Candlewick Press.) Kate's own journey is every bit as miraculous as Edwardâs.
