LetterPop

By Kathy Ishizuka -- School Library Journal, 1/1/2008

Letterpop.com

Beautifully produced newsletters aren't just for monied outfits, which can afford top designers and marketing consultants (but even so, frequently produce pedestrian work. But that's another article). Now thanks to LetterPop, small guys—even libraries and schools—can create and distribute visually appealing newsletters on the cheap, even for free. Entirely Web-based, LetterPop is super easy to use. Simply choose from dozens of templates and input your content. You can even import your snaps through Flickr. The free plan lets you publish 10 newsletters a year (with ads), while a beefier “Personal” account costs just $25 annually. Check out the above sample by Nancy Bosch, a gifted-ed teacher with the Shawnee (KS) Mission schools, from her project “CSI: Cemetery Scene Investigation” (connections.smsd.org/csi).—
