The Brothers Torres is a modern, realistic novel that focuses on the struggles teens face at school. Things like peer pressure, fitting in, and knowing right from wrong. The characters were interesting and unique, but also relatable. The book has many important lessons and is an excellent piece of literature. The Brothers Torres' plot compelled me to keep reading. I was at the edge of my seat and anxious to know more about the new "bad kids" our main character was hanging out with and what kind of an affect they would have on him. I thought that the cover used color well to draw in readers. I liked the red against the tan. The intricate details on the cover will instill a certain curiosity in the reader, and make them want to find out more about this book. I think that as alluring as the cover is, it does not reflect the contents of the book or give them any clue as to what the book was about. - Avi G., age 13
