Elkeles, Simone. Perfect Chemistry. Walker Books. Jan. 2009. ISBN: 9780802798237. Gr 10 and up.

-- School Library Journal, 2/18/2009

Alex and Brittney come from two very different worlds. Their two worlds meet when they're paired together in chemistry and a bet takes them both for a wild ride. It's similar to other books in that it has the whole ‘bad boy and good girl fall for each other’ thing, yet it was different.
Simone Elkeles takes a somewhat typical story line and twists it. This is an amazing book. It had me glued to my seat and I couldn't put it down. The title, Perfect Chemistry, fits with the story line, well, perfectly. The characters are very believable and as complex as an actual human. I just wish the author had added Alex's and Brittney's point of view to the epilogue. It would've been nice to see how their lives have gone other than know that they had one child.
The cover tempted me to pick it up and it definitely reflected the contents. I wasn't disappointed.
It was a lot better than I thought.—Ashley F., age 17
