About the Battle
School Library Journal's Battle of the (Kids') Books is a competition between 16 of the very best books for young people published in 2008, judged by some of the biggest names in children's books.

The Peanut Gallery

Wrote Betsy Bird on her blog, "I want to be the peanut gallery. These kinds of things always have peanut galleries, right?" 

Right.  Betsy, you will get your wish as we will indeed have a peanut gallery.  Not only that, we are counting on you to lead the virtual peanut throwing!  Here's how it will work.  At the end of each week there will be a Peanut Gallery post filled, we hope, with your responses to the matches for that round.  So if you write a post on your blog be sure to let us know in the comments. We will be sure to put a link to it in that week's Peanut Gallery post as well as links to any other commentary we come across. And rest assured that we will regularly update the post as more links come in. Here are some links we've uncovered about the Battle so far (and if we missed your post let us know in the comments and we will add it here):
