danah boyd on the importance of being present in kids' lives online (from AASL)

November 10, 2009 Ernie Cox and I had the opportunity to interview a few of the amazing speakers @ the AASL Conference in Charlotte, including researcher danah boyd of Microsoft Research New England, also known on Twitter as apophenia.  danah's papers inform our understandings how the young people we serve live and play and work online and how we might respond, how we might be present as adults in a more effective way.




We chatted with danah about:

• the importance of adults being visible, being present for our students online
