Kidlit Drink Night: Gotta Book Edition
May 8, 2008

The nice thing about doing Kidlit Drink Nights in New York with editor Cheryl Klein is the freedom with which one is able to go, "You're in town?  You want a Drink Night?  Ka-ZING!"  And it is done.  So when Gregory K of the poetry-laden and very nice blog Gotta Book said to me, "I'm going to be in town May 19th.  Want to do a Kidlit Drink Night then?", my answer was, "Sure!"  Okay, that's not true.  My answer was actually "Uh... uh... uh... I got to check with Cheryl."  And lo and behold Cheryl cannot make it this particular month (boo!) but will be able to next time (yay!).  In her absence we shall throw this soiree at the usual place and at the usual time.  This is because I am afraid to reserve new bars.  New bars can be scary.  *sucks thumb petulantly*

Here be details!

What:
Kidlit Drink Night

When:
Monday, May 19th at 6:00 p.m.

Where:
Sweet & Vicious, 5 Spring Street, New York, NY

Why:
Because how often do you have a chance to sit down with other professionals in the field (authors, illustrators, librarians, agents, editors, teachers, parents, etc.) and talk about children's books?  Plus you never, and I mean NEVER, know who's going to show up.  Past Kidlit Drink Nights have featured John Green, Maureen Johnson, editor Alvina Ling, author/illustrator Meghan McCarthy, everyone agent Rebecca Sherman represents (I don't think I'm much off on that one), so come on down!  We are not pretentious, the back patio is lovely when the weather is nice, and I have new shiny glasses.  Don't you want to see them?  They're soooo shiny!

Buzz Wuz?:
Wuzzy woo.
