Snowflakes for Robert's Snow: Day Three
December 5, 2007

All right. Day One and Two of the final Robert's Snow auction for cancer research are done. We are now on Day Three and just look at the change in fortunes! I'm Elizabeth Bird . . .

. . . and I'm the mysterious little Fuseman Betsy got sent on her birthday, and what is that you're wearing?

It's a reporter's hat. Pretty fab, huh?
That is not a reporter's hat. That is the fedora you wore with your Halloween costume this year.

Yeah, but it's a fedora, right? Like what those old timey news reporters used to wear?
First of all, you are not Girl Friday. And second of all, it makes you look like a hit man. Not a reporter.

Shows what you know. You can't even wear a HAT!
Shall we move on?

Fine.
So, we're on Day Three and just look at what has changed since we were last here. Here's the status report as of 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday. First of all, Grace Lin's Flower still ranks as #1 with $975. Odd, since it was at $1,000 before, but that's just a $25 dollar difference.

Yup. And it's all going to charity, Fuseman. Running a close second at $850 is Elisa Klevin's The Paper Princess and Her Friends . . .
We remember how well she did yesterday.

Indeedy. But here's a surprise. Close on Kleven's heels is The Great Crab Hunters by Kelly Murphy.
Woah! I didn't see that one coming!

And then there's Circle Dance by Salley Mavor, around $625 today. And lookee lookee. Lady Bountiful holding steady at $475.
Anything new to report?

Well, I was pleased to see Matt Phelan pulling in a sweet $400 for his "She Never Misses". That's gonna look good on a tree.
What's low that surprises you?
Well, the fact that you could still get a Sean Qualls or a Donald B. Johnson for a mere $150 blows my mind. Talk about great artists of our time. And if nobody's alerted entertainer Jon Stewart that he can own his very own original Chowder image for a measely $175, someone should go do so.
Agreed.

All right. We'll be back tomorrow with more coverage. Things are heating up, people. If you ain't put down some money, get cracking. These flakes don't last forever.
