Read-athon FinaleJune 8, 2008I loved having an excuse to read. I could get off the telephone and say, "I'm sorry, but I have to get back to my readathon." When my family asked if I wanted to go do the dishes, I could say, "Sorry....remember I'm reading!" What did I add to my reading portfolio:
How did I do this? I slept 6 hours each "night", took 3 hours off Saturday afternoon and ate while driving sons to work missing 3 hours. So out of 48 hours, I was reading almost 30 hours. I did take some breaks for email, phone calls, etc. but talk to my phone pals and they'll tell you I wasn't very responsive because I was reading at the same time. Some of the books I read won't be released until Sept. 08 and even February 09 so I'm saving big blogging on all those. The rest of them I kept a word document with notes as I went so I could blog shallowly now and in great detail this week. I'll be in the car over 30 hours this week so have lots of thinking time to devote. I'll upload the word document of notes as soon as my sons give me back my computer. I meant to upload it at 7 a.m. Sunday, but they were playing Runescape again. If they hadn't taken my computer away periodically this weekend, I don't think I could have read so much. How about you? How much did you read? Posted by Diane Chen on June 8, 2008 | Comments (3)
