Read-athon Finale

June 8, 2008

I loved having an excuse to read. I could get off the telephone and say, "I'm sorry, but I have to get back to my readathon." When my family asked if I wanted to go do the dishes, I could say, "Sorry....remember I'm reading!"  What did I add to my reading portfolio:

Keeping Score by Linda Sue Park 191 pgs Keeping Score
The Big Burn by Jeanette Ingold 289 pgs
Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs Vol. 2 by Yukiya Sakuragi 202 pgs Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs
Maximum Ride: School's Out -Forever by James Patterson 409 pgs Maximum Ride: School's Out-Forever
Gone by Michael Grant 558 Gone By Michael Grant
Goy Crazy by Melissa Schorr 344 pgs
Suddenly Supernatural Scaredy Kat by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel 250 pgs Gotta wait. I couldn't! Out Feb. 09. Go read my post about book #1. Get it and wait... Hee hee hee I feel evil
The Devouring Sorry Night by Simon Holt 231 pgs Gotta wait for the cover online. Out Sept. 2008 (Girl Horror!)
Jake Maddox: Backup Goalie by Bob Temple 62 pgs
Jake Maddox: Full Court Dreams by Val Priebe 62 pgs
Fri night & Saturday's total 2608
Friday's Daytime total 1714
Readathon Challenge TOTAL 4322

How did I do this? I slept 6 hours each "night", took 3 hours off Saturday afternoon and ate while driving sons to work missing 3 hours. So out of 48 hours, I was reading almost 30 hours. I did take some breaks for email, phone calls, etc. but talk to my phone pals and they'll tell you I wasn't very responsive because I was reading at the same time.

Some of the books I read won't be released until Sept. 08 and even February 09 so I'm saving big blogging on all those. The rest of them I kept a word document with notes as  I went so I could blog shallowly now and in great detail this week. I'll be in the car over 30 hours this week so have lots of thinking time to devote. I'll upload the word document of notes as soon as my sons give me back my computer. I meant to upload it at 7 a.m. Sunday, but they were playing Runescape again. If they hadn't taken my computer away periodically this weekend, I don't think I could have read so much.

How about you? How much did you read?

Isn't Goy Crazy precious? Love it!
