Glogster - Digital Posters
March 26, 2008
Have you ever wanted to share text, photos, and even audio clips in an easy online poster format? Now you can, using
Glogster. A free web service, Glogster uses Flash to let you easily create posters to share information.
I heard about Glogster from some of the librarians at Livonia Central Schools who thought it quite amusing that they knew about a site I didn't know. [I find that rather cool, and it shows me that what I am doing really is having an impact!] So a big thank you goes to Anne-Marie Gordon who is quite the Glogger as
Cybrarian. Her posters are a mixture of information literacy skills and wonderful examples of elementary lessons like
information about pond animals. Posters can stand on their own, our you can embed them in other websites as we have done for our upcoming
Digital Media Festival.
Glogster is a very easy program to learn. Just sign up and get started with their drag-and-drop interface. I do have to note that this is a rather young site, however, and it can be a bit buggy at times. Still, it is certainly worth a look!
