Getting schools up to speed in a new online reading environment and a quartet of high school students who charmed attendees with their candor about their reading habits (they prefer print) were among the highlights of the SLJ Summit, held October 22-23 in Chicago, IL.

The Tweet stream was buzzing, with provocative programs drawing plenty of comment. The presentations included Stephen Abram on "The Future of Reading in 2020;" librarian Frances Harris and her students from the University High School Laboratory High School, IL; and Kathy Parker, media specialist at Seneca Grade School, IL, and her daughter Sarah Evans, owner of PR firm Sevans Strategy, on piloting an ereader program.
