Video Game SAT Prep
A new online SAT prep service that's grounded in video games? That's right. Shmoop, a digital curriculum company, is using Oregon Trail, Tetris, and Mario Brothers "as metaphors for various challenges that students will face (and overcome!) on the SAT."

The prep covers SAT reading, writing, math, and test-taking strategies. Users have access to 500 vocabulary words; 1,000 practice problems in reading, writing, and math; three full-length interactive practice exams; and in-depth review topics. They can also earn Shmoints (Shmoop points) for answering portions of the SAT correctly, and the top score gets a Shmoop T-shirt. The price tag is $23 per student annually, with special rates for schools and school districts.

Fight Obesity Online
There's a new online curriculum aimed at combating childhood obesity. Brought to you by the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation and Discovery Education, the program helps kids achieve a healthy weight through food and exercise. "This curriculum provides educators with tools and resources that they can use in their classrooms to fight this epidemic threatening today's children," says Mary Rollins, Discovery Education's vice president of educational partnerships.

With lesson plans, resources, and videos (Food and Human History, Food Groups, and Keep Moving: Fun Ways to Exercise) aligned to state standards for kids in grades K-5, the curriculum is broken down into four areas: "An Introduction to Energy Balance," "Food Side of the Energy Balance Scale," "Physical Activity Side of the Energy Balance Scale," and "Applying Energy Balance to Students' Live." Even better—it's free by visiting energybalance101.com.

Parents' Choice Audio Awards
From polar bears to Haitian folktales, this year's Parents' Choice Audio Awards have something for everyone. The awards, which are given on six levels from gold and silver to recommended and approved, honor musicians and storytellers who know how to grab and keep children's attention. Here's a sampling of some of the award winners.

Bill Martin's Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? (Macmillan Audio) and Andrew Clements's We the Children (S & S Audio) took home gold awards in the audiobook category. Peter Yarrow—of the 1960s folk music trio Peter, Paul, and Mary—also nabbed a gold in the CD with book category for The Peter Yarrow Songbook: Let's Sing Together!, and Day Is Done (both Sterling Publishing). And in the storytelling section, The Magic Orange Tree and Other Haitian Folktales by Diane Wolkstein (Roomful of Sky Records) won a gold, while Cory Hills's The Lost Bicycle (CDBaby.com) received a silver honor.

There were more than 30 winning items in the music category, with Jungle Gym (Carpet Square Records) and Cantilena: Night Songs from Around the World (Yellow Tale Records) garnering gold awards, while Seven Clever Pirates (Deep Rooted Music), We're Not Kidding!: A Tribute to Barry Louis Polisar (Rainbow Morning Music), and Take It Outside (Okee Dokee Music) were among the silver honor recipients. Be sure to check out Parents' Choice's website for a complete list of winners.

When you are in uncomfortable position and have got no cash to move out from that point, you would need to take the credit loans. Because that would help you emphatically. I take bank loan every time I need and feel myself OK just because of that.
