Brain Quest Phonics Readers: 12 Decodable Readers: Short and Long Vowels

PreS-Gr 1–A boxed set of learn-to-read books focusing on vowel sounds. Each of the 12 titles has its own topic and vowel focus with expressive characters repeated across titles. Most of the characters are animals ­doing human activities, such as tap dancing, swimming, and bee keeping. An occasional BIPOC human character will also make an appearance. Before each story begins, there is a page listing the words with the featured vowel sound, along with a list of ­high-frequency words, bonus words, and a bonus skill to review. Following the story, an additional page gives a tip to extend learning, and a note to the caregiver. The pictures are clear, simple, and brightly colored, showing actions that will delight young readers. The set also includes two titles for review: one for short vowels and one for long vowels.
