PreS-K–Welcome to the United States, a country that began in 1776 with its departure from Britain and whose landscape and background make it unique from the rest of the world. This board book introduces children to some of the iconic moments and places that are referenced when discussing the founding of the US. Focused primarily on the European colonists and the events immediately following the Revolutionary War, it includes details about voting and leadership that anchor the book in the continued impact this period has had on ­contemporary life. Bright colors, diverse people, and historical details adorn each page, inviting readers to investigate the images closely as they are absorbing the words.
