Gr 1–4—The books in this series present the lives of popular young celebrities in the fields of music and film. For each star, students learn of his or her work, awards, progression of career, and home life in a simple, straightforward manner. The surface-level information provided is easy to understand and is broken down into chapters. Each spread consists of a page with minimal text (around three sentences) and a full-page color photo. Although there is a glossary in the back of each book, vocabulary words are not differentiated in any way on the pages. The sparse text and large print would be beneficial to young or struggling readers, and the content will appeal to slightly older kids as well. Decent enough for well-used biography collections.
