PreS-Gr 1—The Alphabet Rockers follow up their second album, Go! (2012), with a remix of 13 original tunes from their first album, Alphabet Rockers (2007). A side-by-side comparison of the first album and this one shows growth and maturity in both the musical arrangements and ensuing sound that comes with experience. Each song is more developed and is likely to have youngsters up and touching their toes ("Good Morning Song"), rapping the days of the week ("Seven Days Beatbox"), swaying along with "Seven Days of the Week," and dancing in the soul-filled "Whether the Weather." Other highlights include "Shape Rap," "The Money Song," and "The New Kid in School." Each number carries a clear message through kid-friendly lyrics and hip-hop music. Concepts such as colors, being a friend, rhyming words, and counting down from ten to one are taught through hip-hop, soul, beat boxing, funk, and dance music. This album was named "Parent's Choice Approved" in 2013.—Stephanie Bange, Wright State University, Dayton, OH
