PreS—Gr 1—With his latest album, McGrath once again proves that there is a reason why he has been the "music man" of
Sesame Street for more than 40 years. While so much emphasis is put on being new and different in children's music, He does traditional just right. From story time staples such as "Wheels on the Bus" and "Hokey Pokey" to Sunday school favorites like "Sing When the Spirit Says Sing" and "He's Got the Whole World in His Hand," McGrath's tenor hits all the right notes. Following each of the 15 songs is an instrumental version that includes a bell tone indicating when the singer should begin singing. The lyrics are included in the liner notes, making singing along a snap. With no song running more than two and a half minutes, these are perfect options for story times, music classes, and classrooms. An added bonus is the final track, "Sing…Sing a Song," which viewers of Sesame Street will remember with great fondness. A must-have for every collection.—
