Dance to the Weather

PreS-Gr 3—This album was created as part of the product line of the Natural Cloud Cover Company, which also sells organic clothing. Owner of Natural Cloud Cover, meteorologist Mish Michaels, is co-producer with Ilene (Leeny) Altman of this collection of 13 weather-related tunes. Three bands comprise the Natural Cloud Cover Bands: Leeny and Steve (Ilene Altman and Steve Equi), Mama Mac (Amy Elkins), and the Swingset Mamas (Marlowe Bechmann and Lizzie Swan). All vocal and instrumental performances are professional and high quality, and the songs feature several musical styles, including calypso, R&B, rock, bluegrass, blues, and a cappella (with beautiful harmonies). Leeny and Steve perform "What Will the Weather Be," "The Weather Dance," "Watching Clouds," and "Weather Extremes" (they comment on specific weather events and records). Mama Mac contributes "Shine," Snowflake Ballet," "Jump in a Pile of Leaves," and "Down the Shore." The Swingset Mamas, performing on guitar and keyboard, offer "Thunder," "My Sunny Day," "Sunscreen Dance," "Rain," and "Colors of the Rainbow."
