PreS–Gr 3—Using his signature wit, Mo Willems turns the traditional Goldilocks fairy tale on its head, substituting dinosaurs for bears and chocolate pudding for porridge. After traipsing through the forest, Goldilocks ("a poorly-supervised little girl") unwittingly enters the dinosaurs' home, eats their pudding, and attempts to sit in their chairs. After noticing that everything in the house is unusually large and overhearing the dinosaurs discussing chocolate-filled-little-girl-bonbons, she finally realizes she is in the wrong fairy tale and quickly heads for the back door. Students will enjoy watching for familiar characters—including the Pigeon, the Bus Driver, and Edwina—as they make cameo appearances throughout this fractured fairy tale. Willems narrates the production, which also includes a bonus interview segment.
