RedReviewStarPreS-Gr 3—This entertaining debut collection of 15 original songs proves that kindie rock band Here Comes Trouble really knows its audience. Most of the songs are sung from the point of view of a child and cover topics such as eating those last few bites of dinner because you want dessert ("I Want Dessert"), "driving" around in your self-propelled car ("Little Red Car"), encouraging the dog to play nice with the mailman ("Don't Eat the Mailman, Doggie"), and a delightfully twisted ode to a doll who has lost her head ("Hey, Dolly"). While the lovely harmonies often call to mind the swinging sound of the Andrews Sisters, the melodies are current and cover several genres from country to pop. With clever lyrics that are easy to understand, listeners will quickly find themselves singing along and may, on occasion, wake with one of these songs in their heads.
VERDICT A must-have for every collection.
