K-Gr 2—This collection contains nine stories (Tricycle Press, 1983–2009) about Hairy Maclary, a mischievous dog. Each humorous tale is performed by Kyle Pryor with a light Scottish brogue and fun narrator-created sound effects. The uncontrollable pooch visits the vet, guards a bone, deals with a cat, unites with his friends in playful fun, disrupts a cat show, and generally gets into light-hearted trouble around the neighborhood. The text is delightful, with plenty of rhyme and alliteration, and the narrator does a bang-up job with it.
