Award-winning artist, David Krentz, walks viewers through a step-by-step method for drawing the dinosaur. Starting with simple shapes, he draws the T-rex in a way kids can easily master. Then, he covers the creature's muscles and skin textures n detail. Using advanced techniques, Krentz draws gestures and movements. The final sections are devoted to drawing the dinosaur in his environment and developing a character an artist can use in a story. Interspersed with the drawing lessons, Krentz and guest paleontologists discuss the dinosaur's skeleton, environment, and how he is similar to other animals like lizards. As the video progresses, the art techniques and the scientific information gets more complex. Bonus features include additional details about drawing the dinosaur in his environment. The program is well filmed, the graphics are clear and age appropriate, and the musical interludes and sound effects are fun without being too hokey.
