Baby-Toddler–Designer Bell puts Matisse-like color forms on pages with cut-out photos of animals to create a journey through the animal kingdom. Lung labels the photographs and inserts cheerful sound words and motion words (“hop hop”) to keep lapsitters and their adults engaged. Working its way alphabetically through species, this title will have young children fully challenged with friendly creatures on lightly colored backgrounds on each spread. At the conclusion, children are encouraged to mimic the animal sounds.
