Sugar Buzz

PreS-Gr 4—Preschool music teacher, Jeanie B, and her band, The Jelly Beans, perform 16 original, mostly bouncy rock 'n' roll songs on their fourth album. They also sing in country and jazz styles. The musicians turn in excellent performances on a variety of instruments—guitar, mandolin, bass, violin, cello, keyboards, tuba, saxophone, clarinet, accordion, drums, and percussion. "Sugar Buzz" begins slowly and calmly, and then segues into fast and furious rock numbers complete with a wailing guitar solo. "Hey, Great Pumpkin" features that famous gourd in which Charlie Brown believed. The remaining songs have clever lyrics and cover kid-friendly topics, including "When You Open a Book," "Jammies All Day Long," "I Am a Horse" (with a galloping rhythm), "Tea Time," "Birthday Party," "Tired Town" (a lullaby), and more.
