Toddler-PreS–The author/illustrator continues to explore the effects of Before & After, in this larger trim size board book. Each spread opens with the query "Why the Face?" on the verso, referring to a large visage on the recto—a distinct and obvious emotion is expressed with each page turn. Readers are then invited to open the foldout page to discover what is eliciting that specific reaction. Laugh-out-loud moments are sure to ensue. Some of the jokes will fly over some kids' heads, but the bright, vivid colors and bold line will draw them in.
