That’s Maurice Sendak (who as we now know is unquestionably better than Dr. Seuss) talking about the heart of what was to become his masterpiece: Where the Wild Things Are.
I especially love the bit at the 2:00 mark where he starts talking about “trapping” the reader. This video is gold, folks – I could quote just about the whole thing, but how about you just watch it?
