Comic-Con kicks off this week with preview night on Wednesday and the show starting in earnest on Thursday. But publishers have already started rolling out the announcements, so here’s a look at what we’re hearing about so far.

Mouse Guard is going to be a movie. Well, it’s in the early stages, but it’s a great excuse to use that gorgeous cover art. Director Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield) will produce the adaptation, which will be animated—sort of. Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit explains:

The studio is looking to make a live-action movie utilizing the performance-capture technology pioneered for Fox’s acclaimed Apes franchise as well as technology used by Disney’s live-action animal tale The Jungle Book to bring the Mouse Guard world to vivid life.

Mega Princess

BOOM! Studios announced a new kids’ title, Mega Princess, to be written by Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye) and illustrated by Brianne Drouhard.

Dynamite Entertainment has plans to publish Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys comics and original graphic novels starting next year, a nugget dropped in a New York Times article about the company. The new series will take two tracks, according to executive editor Joseph Rybandt: “one, which aims for the mass-market teen and tween reader, and also something for the comic book market that aims a little older.”
