I use mock-ups for customized screensavers, posters, signs, presentation slides, for telling digital stories, for visual announcements on websites.

I just discovered a cool little tool that will come in handy for our more techie displays.

Placeit.net is an image generator that allows you to upload an image, or an image with text, and place it into more screen displays than you can ever imagine.

You’ll find oh so many image options organized into oh so many of categories.

But there’s more.  There are multiple stage types including: still shots, video, blender, multistage, workflow, and interactive video. The workflow feature offers the opportunity to place a variety of animated backgrounds behind your screen and to move and rotate the hands in the image around the screen.

Here are screens advertising my petting zoos, composed using Canva.

While Placeit is not a free tool, if you are interested, you can write to hi@placeit.net for an educators’ coupon code.  (Use my name!)

PhotoFunia keeps growing and now offers more than 400 effects, allowing you to add your images to scenes and create collages.  Insert your picture on the cover of magazines, on billboards, on the walls museum, in an astronauts  suit, in frames and on book pages and covers.  There’s also an animated gif creator.

Fotor is another of my go-to tools for combining images into collages.  Here’s an example of a recent creation for a speaking event.

ShapeCollage allows your to import multiple photos and automatically creates collages in a variety of shapes, letters or characters, or a custom-drawn shape.

PicMonkey is my absolute favorite image editor! It is also truly worth going for the premium account.  It not only offers a wide array of image editing features and frames and filters and effects and fonts, it offers the most school-friendly seasonal themes!

While I love Wordle, Tagxedo, and Tagul for creating word clouds, lately I’ve been favoring Tagul for its flexibility relating to shapes.

Here’s one I made for my recent presentation.
