Gr 9 Up—These titles examine topics within the larger context of the issue at hand. In the first book, the authors tackle both the pros and cons of whether the "best interests standards" of custodial rights should be favored, if the interests of noncustodial parents should be given more protection, and if race should be a factor in settling such disputes. The second title examines the role of government in regard to privacy and the freedom of information. Although thorough bibliographies and annotated lists of statutes and cases are appended, the books lose some authority because one author is responsible for both sides of the debate. The "Opposing Viewpoints" series (Greenhaven) has the advantage of having multiple voices weighing in on the topics. These titles do offer a unique section that includes an explanation of legal research, an annotated list of relevant cases, and legal concepts. Consider them as a supplement, rather than alternative, to other pro/con-type volumes.—Carol Fazioli, Barth Elementary School, Pottstown, PA
