Dinosaurs in the Wild! (Jurassic World Dominion)

K-Gr 2–The Jurassic World animals have escaped into the wild! While that premise might make for an exciting plot, this book focuses instead on introducing the animals found in the movie Jurassic World Dominion. Each spread focuses on one dinosaur, with an accompanying illustration and fact; occasional spreads feature up to three species. The illustrations steal the show, with giant, detailed, teeth-baring dinosaurs dominating at least half of each page. The text is set in a black serif font against a mostly white background, helping to set readers up for a successful reading experience. However, only the most passionate dinosaur enthusiasts already familiar with the names of the different species will be able to read this book. Even those kids might need help decoding some of the bigger words such as “ferocious,” “sickle,” and “bellowing.” While this book needs a specific type of reader or a supportive adult to assist, many children will undoubtedly delight in its pages, even if just to look through the illustrations.
