I’m So Happy You’re Here: A Celebration of Library Joy

K-Gr 3–Those familiar with Threets, librarian and new Reading Rainbow host, will recognize his infectious library joy anywhere. His brand of spontaneous boosting is no less evident in his debut book. Keeping with Threets’s general philosophy of inclusive library use, this book rounds up library patrons of all ages and backgrounds. Each page is a welcome greeting to the various types of library users and an advertisement for what the institution can do for the community it inhabits. The welcoming tone invites young readers to learn more about what a library can do for them, and how they can see themselves in various library spaces. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and fully representational. Children and adults alike come together to revel in the various book and programming offerings. There are activities, snacks, books, and, most of all, library love. Each scene is uniquely illustrated and rendered with vibrant colors. While the sentiment of the book is straightforward, the story delightfully expands through the colorful art and musings on library life.
