Gr 2–4—Leon the raccoon loves living in the city. There's always so much to do. But one day, his mother decides that they should go visit relatives in the country and Leon wants none of it. After all, country raccoons don't know anything. However, Leon realizes that he has a lot to learn from his country cousins and finds out that he enjoys campfires and stargazing. The colorful digital cartoons take up entire pages, lending Leon and company a great deal of appeal. The narrative itself is a little long, intended for beginning readers rather than a storytime setting. Readers will learn to be open to new things thanks to Leon's adventure in the country.
VERDICT A supplementary purchase with a clear and important message: to respect and value those with experiences that differ from one's own.
