Moore’s classic poem “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Engelbreit’s signature oversized block letters and colored-pencil drawings fill the pages with cozy winter scenes, including a mouse snoozing in a walnut shell while St. Nick, this time rendered as a jolly raccoon, flies a figure skate pulled by seven cardinals to deliver his goods. “And then in a twinkling on the roof I heard the prancing & pawing of each little bird,” reads text slightly different from the original poem.
