PreS-K—An alligator introduces his friends on pages that are cut into thirds so children can create crazy images of them. The animals include an elephant, a cat, a seal, a mouse, a bear, a raccoon, a lion, and a rabbit. Two-to-four words in large print introduce each animal and what it is doing. Matching the initial letters and three pictures leads to a few selections that make sense, e.g., "Shirley serves sandpipers." Some of the vocabulary is not for a young audience. Flipping the flaps results in "Randy reads about relativity," "Max masters mega-weights," "Pete pitchforks pears." There are other, more kid-friendly books available in this format that will bring a smile to preschoolers.—Janene Corbin, Rosebank Elementary School, Nashville, TN
