Richard Scarry’s Lowly Worm Saves Christmas!

K-Gr 2–The Cat family is getting excited about Christmas. The children and Lowly Worm tell each other what gifts they want most. When the phone rings, Lowly answers and agrees to help the person on the phone. It turns out it was Santa—all of the elves are sick, and Santa needs Lowly’s help to finish making toys. After assisting Santa, Lowly ends up back home when he trips in the candy cane station and ends up in Sally’s stocking. Lowly made sure that the Cat children received the presents they were excited for, and even got a real race car for himself. The illustrations are classically Scarry and full of all of the cute animals one would typically find in his books. Text appears on every page and flows around the illustrations on some. As indicated on the front cover, the book also includes stickers.
