Gr 8 Up–Something bad is happening in Silver Shores, MI. Charlie Hudson just hasn’t felt complete since the death of her twin sister, Sophie. Now a junior, Charlie feels lost, alone, and disconnected from everything. When local teens go missing in the forest, everyone is scared. After her missing classmate’s sneakers are discovered hanging from an ash tree, along with what appear to be Nordic runes, Charlie is drawn toward the mystery in ways she cannot explain. Part of that mystery leads her to the attractive new boy at school, Elias Everheart. He takes an interest in Charlie, but he harbors dark secrets about his origins, another world hiding in plain sight, and startling revelations about her sister and her father. Charlie’s discovery of what’s happened to the missing kids will put her relationships to the test as she searches for truth and a way to stop events leading to Ragnarök. Main characters cue white.
